2011, Day 089 - Heavenly

This is the last time I return to the Kecak dance, I am ready to move on to other parts of my adventures in Bali but today I wanted to try something different.

How many blogs do you follow? I'm a blog junkie and currently I follow almost eighty blogs. Some are updated multiple times a day and others just once or twice a month but each is different and there is so much knowledge being given away.

One of the blogs that I've been following included an article about the use of black and white processing in the age of digital cameras. It is so easy to become tantalized by bright colorful images that I often find myself lowering the saturation just to be contrary but I do not often convert completely to black and white with the notable exception of portraiture. Well, this article included and interesting example that I have attempted apply here. I wanted to highlight the female dancer so I have increased the contrast around her while lightening her and simultaneously increasing the exposure in the rest of the image. It is finished with a little extra vignetting.

What are your thoughts on the result? Do you like it? Is it too much? How does it make you feel? I want your feedback!
