2011, Day 115 - Strikes twice

Thunderstruck, the AC/DC cover band, returned to Tonic on Saturday night and despite the rather low attendance during the opening act the place was packed when they took the stage. They bring so much energy it is a real pleasure to watch if rather deafening. Next time I think some ear plugs might be in order to try to preserve my hearing, one cannot allow one's enemies to gain the upper hand.

2011, Day 114 - Ed to Shred

Yesterday I was a social butterfly and anyone who knows me is well aware that such a statement is confirmation that I was rather out of my element. Who stays out past 9pm? It's madness I tell you!

Anywho, I went to an ethnic festival to celebrate the the date on which he was expelled from the womb, much to the relief of his long suffering progenitors. After I stopped by a friend's bar to take pictures of the bands that were performing. The opening act was Ed to Shred who displayed what appeared to be rather remarkable skill but that is an observation from someone who can best be described as "musically retarded." However I did have a good time despite the late hour...

How about another concert shot? I have so many that I still haven't finished processing them but great progress has been made. This shot is of one of the guitarists in The Mean Jeans. By the end all three were drenched in sweat, looks like quite the workout, maybe they should have Guitar Hero stations at the gym...

Another trip to Tonic Lounge to catch up with my friends Sean and Garner and to enjoy some of the local music scene. The place was packed and first up was Hey Lover who whipped the crowd into a frenzy.

2011, Day 043 - Rockin'

My friends Sean and Garner recently bought Tonic Lounge which is not only a bar but a live music venue. They've only been running the place for a couple of weeks now but already the improvements are evident. They generously invited me to come and take some photos of the place and this evening's performance. This is the lead guitarist of Thunderstruck, an AC/DC cover band that is evidently really popular because the place was absolutely packed.
