2010, Day 287 - Acrobatics

Sometimes you're at the right place at the right time. This afternoon I was walking past one of the thirty five community gardens in Portland and I was this little guy take a running leap at the sunflowers, climb up the stalk and hang upside-down from the flower in order to snack on the abundant seeds. I just happened to throw a telephoto lens in my bag before heading out the door and I wouldn't normally carry it but I am so pleased that I had it on hand. It looks like an odd position in which to eat but I suppose I should try it before I cast judgment.

2010, Day 83 - Mt Tabor

The weather gods were pleased today and instead of the rain that the meteorologists forecast we had highs of almost 70 degrees, sun and a light breeze. On my way to run an errand for work I stopped off at Mt Tabor, one of my favorite places in Portland. It may not be the biggest park but it has so much to offer!

This was my guide, his name is Theodore, and when I walked through the gate he greeted me happily.
