2010, Day 89 - Glass

Glass is an amazing material; light, beautiful, inert, clean and capable of great beauty. Andy Paiko is a childhood friend of my brother's and he is also a Portland resident (it's surprising how many people from the same small town in California have ended up here). Despite the struggling economy Andy is still able to make a living from blown glass and when you see it you won't be surprised. He kindly allowed me into his shared studio space so that we could catch up and I could complete another day's assignment.
