2011, Day 261 - Bustle

Back to my sister's wedding.  This is one of my favorite photos, I think because it reflects my sister as I remember her; waiting imperiously while her friends bustle her train.  That is a pose I remember well, one that was particularly common when she was quite young so to see it again on her wedding day seems only fitting.

2011, Day 219 - Coupled

This is probably my favorite portrait from my sister's wedding shoot.  I love the light, the simplicity of the setting and their body language.  They're really looking at nothing but I like how it looks like they're surveying their future as a couple.

2011, Day 216 - Ballroom

My sister Stacey's wedding was held in the ballroom of the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento.  Originally the Crocker was a phenomenal mansion and being used as a museum it has been cared for meticulously.  In the photo below Joe is reading his vows to Stacey, they were great, maybe I will share them when I am given copies.

2011, Day 215 - Bunny kiss

Another photo from my sister's wedding.  This isn't the actual kiss, unfortunately, but they were getting a little giddy before the ceremony and were willing to oblige my request for the irreverent.

2011, Day 205 - Mawwiage

I admit it, I'm running behind.  Yesterday my sister Stacey got married and I was honored to be their photographer.  Weddings are a lot of work but the upshot is that you get to spend a lot of time with the bride and groom and we all know at weddings they are being pulled in so many directions what few people get more than a few words with them.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento.  We were very fortunate to have the space not only as a venue for the marriage but as a location for photos of the bride and groom.

2011, Day 164 - Groomed

More from Saturday's wedding.  This is Matt, the groom, and I really liked his obvious casual confidence.  He was a great subject, took direction well and it shows in the results.  Now, I know it is a wedding photo, but we had wonderful overcast skies that added a great mood and atmosphere.

2011, Day 162 - Alesha

Today I had the pleasure of shooting the marriage of Alesha to Matt.  They are a very sweet couple and we fortunately had the use of the grounds of BeckenRidge Winery for their photos.  It was a remarkable place and the vines themselves are my favorite backdrop.  In the days to come I suspect there will be more photos to share with you but for now it is late and this is only one of two shoots I had today so I am going to bed.

2011, Day 069 - Planning

My sister Stacey is getting married this summer and I have been asked to take their wedding photos. I don't really care for weddings, it seems like a lot of trouble for a single day, but I would rather be taking pictures than be a guest.

When I was in California last week I got to tour the wedding venue and took some pictures so I could create a storyboard. This is one taken in the contemporary wing of the Crocker Art Museum. Yes, my drawing of the bride is rather crude and slightly demented, like something from the Blair Witch wedding, but I think it is funny.

2010, Day 337 - Nuptials

Today the daughter of my friend Chris got married. Just like when Chris got married a couple months ago, her daughter Ashley married her fiancée at the courthouse although it has to be said that the Multnomah County Courthouse is much nicer than that of Clackamas County.

I really enjoy these weddings; short and to the point so the focus can be on the celebration after the ceremony. With less than twenty people it was great, I got to meet all the closest friends and family who attended. Congratulations Ashley and Chris Epping!

2010, Day 29 - Cats getting married

Stopped by Voodoo Donuts with a couple of friends to get a snack and became a guest at the marriage of two fine felines.
