2013, Day 77 - Surging Sand

I love this picture.  It's hard to believe that the dog in the number two jacket is Frankie's brother.  You can see Frankie in the background in the number one jacket; the two of the are built so differently.  Frankie is lean and leggy but Sand is built like a freight train and he can really move.  Sand has a huge reserve of speed and he can power his extra bulk forward.  Randi, in the number three jacket, ran really well and ran smart but she lacks Sand's power.  Still, Sand and Randi took the trace seriously and Frankie bounced around the track with enthusiasm but wasn't really racing.  Oh well, at least he's pretty :)
