2013, Day 81 - Fading glory

Camelias are such beautiful flowers and the trees put on such a spectacular display when in bloom.  The sheer density of blossoms can be staggering and the white flowers look especially nice against the rich glossy green leaves.  Sadly they also make a tremendous mess.  When the flowers go off their peak the drop and quickly yellow.  As they rot the flowers become a kind of slick rust colored muck and it looks disgusting.  Of well, most of us aren't going to leave a beautiful corpse when we die...
