Despite the snowfall and the ice storm that followed the snowdrops have survived. In fact they're thriving and making a prolific showing all over my neighborhood. If permitted snowdrops will slowly take over and create a carpet of delicate white flowers. They are the one of the first flowers to bloom and I expect the winter crocus will soon follow suit as well as the hellebores but right now I am getting hints of spring and I am excited.
