2012, Day 214 - Exploring

I love macro!  When the wider world seem so boring in its familiarity all you need to do is concentrate on the details.  We had another nice overcast morning and as the temperature rose so did the activity level of the insects.  My neighbors have a number of beautiful rose bushes and as I was looking at a particularly photogenic blossom I noticed movement in my peripheral vision.  Not wanting the frighten off my new friend I turned slowly an spied this little wasp rolling around inside the rose like a cat on catnip.  His movements made him look so excited, he dove in and out of the flower like Scrooge McDuck swimming in his wealth.  It was fun to watch him and it definitely brought a moment of levity to my day.
